Filled with fun and laugher, great harmonies, and presenting music from seven decades, the Beach Street Players, directed by Gloria Herauf, will once again entertain audiences with the 2024 Have a Heart production, 鈥楽top The World And Start The Music.鈥�
Performances of the show will be held at Comox United Church (250 Beach Dr., Comox) on: Friday, Feb. 9, 7 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 10, 2 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 11, 2 p.m. and Friday, Feb. 16, 7 p.m. and Saturday, Feb. 17, 2 p.m..
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Benjamin Moore House of Color in Courtenay, and at Blue Heron Books in Comox. Beach Street Players are sponsored by Strathcona Sunrise Rotary Club and as always, give profits back to the community.
Everyone involved in the production volunteers their time and talent to maximize the funds raised. To date performances by the Beach Street Players have raised more than $200,000 from supportive patrons. This will be the 13th production of the Beach Street Players.
鈥楽top The World And Start The Music鈥� will sweep attendees away from this troubled world to one of joyful music from jazz to rock, pop to classics, Broadway to country and even opera鈥� all with a fun twist and lots of laughter!
As Charlie recalls past precious memories while playing his old vinyl records, the stage comes to life with those nostalgic songs and scenes 鈥� from the Roaring 鈥�20s to modern online dating, from the advent of rock and roll to Elton John, Belafonte, Lightfoot, Tony Bennett and Julie Andrews, from the Mamas and Papas and Beach Boys, to Carol Burnett鈥檚 90th birthday鈥� and so much more.
