The Comox Valley Children’s Choirs will perform a Christmas concert on Saturday, Dec. 9 titled Welcome Winter!

The concert will feature a diverse collection of choral selections ranging from modern compositions and folk tunes to familiar pop carols. Performers will range in age from six to 16, as the entire family of choirs will perform on one stage: Preparatory Choir, Children’s Choir, and Youth Choir. Each of these choral groups will perform a heart-warming selection of wintery tunes that is certain to put a smile on your face!

Naturally, children are welcome in the audience! The event will take place Saturday, Dec. 9 at Church of St. John the Divine in Courtenay, at 2 p.m., with admission by donation at 2 p.m. (Suggested donations $10/per person, or $30/family.)

The choirs are directed by Sophie Simard, assisted by Hannah Slomp and are accompanied by Coralea Klassen, assisted by Beth Lee. The Comox Valley Children’s Choir is a registered not-for-profit organization and has been active in providing choral education programs for more than a quarter of a century in the Comox Valley. The programs offer singers the opportunity to learn the foundations of musicianship and choral education in a non-competitive environment, and the aim is to instil in children a love of singing. New singers will be accepted for the winter (January-April) choral session. Visit for more registration information.
