The BC Choral Federation (BCCF) is thrilled to announce the first-ever Chorfest for all tenor and bass voices and is asking for members of local choirs or congregations to join them for this musical voyage.
The event is called Anchors Aweigh! and is the first time a Chorfest is being held specifically for the lower ranges. It takes place May 31-31 at the historic Native Sons Hall in Courtenay. This exciting weekend of music-making will bring together singers from across B.C. under the leadership of esteemed clinician Dr. Mark Ramsay.
With a rollicking nautical-themed repertoire, participants will dive into an outstanding choral experience. A native of Prince Edward Island with lived experience on the sea, Ramsay finds the nautical theme a natural choice.
Registration for singer participants is now open, with an early bird rate available until May 15. Chorfest includes eight hours of singing/instruction, a wine and cheese reception, PDFs and original music, rehearsal tracks, an individual BCCF membership, a finale concert and a perfect way to meet, learn and sing with a highly skilled director.
The Chorfest finale concert on Saturday May 31 at 7:00 p.m. will feature guest performances by the Quarantones Male Chorus, Chor Musica and the Men of Notes and promises to be unforgettable.
