Vancouver indie band The Get Down is touring Vancouver Island to promote its third album, Live Off The Floor, produced by Barrie Smith.

The tour will feature Victoriaʼs Brave New Waves (www.thebravenewwaves.com), Courtenayʼs very own Valley (www.myspace.com/valleyreggae), and of course, The

Get Down (www.myspace.com/thegetdown4).

The tour comes to the Bridge Lounge in Courtenay on April 29.

Live Off The Floor was originally supposed to be just a live performance of previously recorded, and older unrecorded songs. But, as the recording date grew closer and closer, the plans evolved. With so many new songs under their belts, and

excessive gigging within past months, they decided they wanted to capture the essence of the present.

So, Live Off The Floor features all new recordings, all recorded live off the floor (no overdubs)! One track in particular was written especially for the record, featuring the rapping talents of their good friend Collin Vyner (Sold Seperately).

With each member bringing original songs to the table, the band has amassed a solid collection of original material. Theyʼve all brought different influences and genres to the table, having found that their eclectic stylings attract a diverse fan base.

Ranging from skanky reggae music to folky blues to heavy metal and even punk and country twang, audiences still don't know what is coming next.
