FINDING THE LOST Years is a mixed media collage by Lisa Kirk that will be at The Purple Onion in Comox on Saturday.

On Saturday,  June 11 at 7 p.m., The West Coast Artist Collective makes its debut at The Purple Onion in Comox.

A group of nine eclectic women artists make up this collective: Jennifer Weber, Lucy Schappy, Kira Neumann, Lisa Kirk, Helen Utsal, Corre Alice, Naomi teWinkle, Patti Didiomete and Lori Kenney.  Each artist (with the exception of Lori Kenney as she had previous art commitments) has been madly creating art with only two things in common-size and price. Each piece of art measures a square foot (12” x12”) and each will be sold for $200.

Each artist has created anywhere from six to 12 pieces so there will be lots to choose from; some painted in oils, some in acrylics and others mixed media and collaged pieces.  Every artist has her own unique style so there will be a wonderful diversity of work to view and purchase.  The work that is not sold on the opening night will remain hung at The Purple Onion until July 11.

If you want the best selection, come the opening night for what promises to be a spirited evening with tastings from Natural Pastures Cheese and Blue Moon Winery as well as live music from some members of Luzna. The Purple Onion will also offer its usual delicious fare. The Purple Onion is located at 146 Port Augusta St., Comox.
