With a voice that’s captivated audiences across four continents, Victoria-based jazz vocalist Angela Verbrugge is making waves in the global jazz scene

Angela Verbrugge Quartet brings international jazz to 40 Knots Winery on April 13.

Since launching her international touring career in 2021, Angela Verbrugge has performed everywhere from Türkiye to Taiwan, Germany to Japan, and across nearly every province in Canada. On April 13, she performs at 40 Knots Winery at 1:30 p.m.

A 2024 Western Canadian Music Award nominee for Jazz Artist of the Year, she has also been recognized as Best Female Vocalist in the JazzTimes Readers’ Poll and praised by top critics. Her recordings have garnered a worldwide following, with over 600,000 Spotify streams.

Known for her original compositions and deeply expressive style, she collaborates with top-tier musicians both at home and abroad, including Tony Genge, Attila Fias, Terry Clarke and Ray Gallon. This past year she graced the stages of the Victoria and Nanaimo Jazz Festivals, further cementing her reputation as one of Canada’s most exciting jazz voices. 

Verbrugge is joined by Craig Scott on vibraphone, Kosma Busheikin on bass and Hans Verhoeven on drums.Don’t miss this chance to experience a world-class performance right here at home!
