Author Michael Layland presents an illustrated lecture, 鈥淚n Nature鈥檚 Realm,鈥� at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 3 in the Courtenay and District Museum.

Layland鈥檚 talk is based on his recently released book, In Nature鈥檚 Realm, Early Naturalists Explore Vancouver Island.

The book is a celebration of the richly diverse flora and fauna of Vancouver Island as explored through the records of settlers, explorers and visitors, and with due respect to the wealth of Indigenous traditional knowledge of the island鈥檚 ecosystems.

Copies of Layland鈥檚 books will be available for purchase ($40 each plus tax) and signing after the talk.
