Comox Valley seniors, their families and the general public have a new and exciting summer program to enjoy each Thursday afternoon from 1-3:30 p.m.

Hosted in the beautiful setting of the Gardens on Anderton in Comox, Thursday Tea-Time at the Gardens on Anderton runs from June 13 to Aug. 29 and will have a different activity each week. Admission is by donation.

Many seniors in our community live alone or have little social interaction. To bring seniors together with family, meet new friends and possibly interact with some younger members of our community for an afternoon of fun and entertainment The Gardens on Anderton will host several afternoon social activities. Seniors will enjoy an afternoon in the beautiful garden setting enjoying tea and other treats while being entertained, learning something new and having fun. This is an opportunity to socialize with family and friends; old and new.

It all begins on June 13 with live musical entertainment by Anela, the fabulous Hawaiian singer, guitar and ukulele performer, who is probably the most popular entertainer in the Valley.

June 20 will be Herbs: Growing, Smelling and Tasting.

June 27th we will present a music trivia - music from the “olden days.”

You’re invited to experience the Gardens in all its splendour. See the beautiful flowers, smell the amazing aroma of the plants, shrubs and trees, rest by the pond and watch the fish, and see the eagles soaring overhead. You may enjoy a walk through the Labyrinth, stroll through the butterfly garden, or a peaceful moment sitting in the meditation garden.

For more information on what is happening (and when) visit, call 250 702-4186 or check the information board at the gate the next time you visit the gardens, at 2012 Anderton Road in Comox – on the way to the Little River Ferry Terminal.
