The Comox Valley Community Foundation funds a wide array of projects

The Comox Valley Community Foundation supports a variety of projects.

Getting the word out to the community about the CVCF is a primary goal for the Board of Directors of the Comox Valley Community Foundation.

For instance, do people know that since 2005 over 40 community organizations have received grants totaling nearly $400,000? This truly exemplifies how dollars donated are put back into the community.

The Foundation has a set of guidelines they use when making the decision each year on where funds will be distributed.

The most recent recipients were Black Creek Community Association, CV Project Watershed, Comox Valley Transition Society, Cumberland and District Historical Society, Cumberland Community Forest, L’Arche Comox Valley, and Tsolum River Restoration Society.

The Foundation has put together a brief presentation which they are very keen to take out to the community. The more people are aware of the Foundation, the more likely that people will consider the Foundation as an excellent option to contribute to either in their life time or as a bequest in their will.

If your business, organization or club would like to have representatives of the Foundation visit and make a presentation, contact CVCF president Lorne Harder at 250-338-1401.

Comox Valley Community Foundation is a non-governmental community organization that administers funds, which comes from bequests, living donors, endowments or nonprofit organizations and other gifts. Grants are made from income generated from the investment of the funds.

The Foundation helps with a wide array of projects throughout the Comox Valley. A seventeen-member Board of Directors is responsible for the overall policies and practices of the Foundation. More information on the CVCF can be found at www.cvcfoundation.org.
