Comox Valley Growers and Seed Savers (CVGSS) will host a free public presentation as part of their annual general meeting in the band room of Vanier high school on Headquarters Road on Wednesday, June 15.

Judy Walker, landscape designer, and planner with the Village of Cumberland, will present: 鈥淢ore than Rows 鈥� Great Ideas for Vegetable Garden Design and Maintenance鈥� beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Walker, a long time resident of the Comox Valley, is passionate about gardening.  She has worked with landscape architects and the Regional District and taught landscape design at North Island College.

If you are merely thinking of breaking sod and are new to gardening Walker will help you plan ahead.  And for those already gardening, there is always more to learn.  Optimum results requires knowledge that experienced gardeners take years to accumulate. What to plant, when and where, and what to expect ? This lecture will introduce you to useful notions of garden design and expand your creativity.

The AGM of CVGSS will follow at 7:30.  Local and tasty refreshments will be served, and admission is by donation.  All members and the public are invited to attend.  Doors open at 6 p.m.
