Noted Indigenous author Randy Fred to speak at Comox church

Noted Indigenous author, editor, filmmaker, Mr. Randy Fred, who has edited works by former Minister of Attorney General, Jody Wilson-Raybould, will speak at an event sponsored by the Justice Action Team of the Comox Valley Unitarian Fellowship.

His presentation will be at 2 p.m. at the Comox United Church, 250 Beach Drive, Comox, on Saturday, Oct. 28. It will be followed by a potluck dinner. All are welcome.

A Nuu-chah-nulth Elder in Residence at VIU, Fred’s story includes having spent nine years at the Port Alberni Residential School. He has been an editor and writer for many years and has appeared and spoken at many events, including last year’s Comox Valley Writers Conference.

His talk will include details of his life and current work, as well as his thoughts on Truth and Reconciliation.
