The Green Party of Canada is holding its North Island Powell River Electoral District Association annual general meeting Saturday, June 22.
Elizabeth May has been joined in Parliament by the Green Party of Canada (GPC) member from Nanaimo-Ladysmith, Paul Manly. The result of the May 6, 2019 by-election doubled the Greens’ presence in Ottawa, and the party is hopeful of gaining more seats in October’s federal election.
Elections Canada requires EDAs to hold a yearly AGM at which the business of the riding association is discussed. Saturday’s AGM will take place from 1-3 p.m. at the Comox Community Centre, 1855 Noel Avenue, Room B.
A review of the past year’s activities and achievements, as well as the election of NIPR’s executive is on the agenda.
Business will be followed by the AGM’s guest speaker, Mark de Bruijn, the GPC candidate in this year’s federal election.
Participants will be invited to join de Bruijn in a local campaign event.
