Get ready for a weekend of fun, connection, and celebration at the Lake Trail Community Education Society’s (LTCES) 4th Annual Community Connections Day, taking place May 8 and May 10, 2025, at Lake Trail Community School. Whether you're a long-time resident or a newcomer, this free event invites Comox Valley residents to come together and celebrate creativity, wellness, and the strength of community.
The festivities kick off on May 8 with a neighbourhood garden potluck from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. under the blossoming cherry trees at the Lake Trail Community School Garden. Join us for a joyful evening of good food, live music, and hands-on arts and crafts.
On May 10, the excitement continues with fun, learning, and community-building for all ages from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.! The Pop-Up Choir welcomes anyone who loves to sing, while a workshop on managing anxiety offers practical tools for mental wellness.
Take advantage of free bike tune-ups, the open gym, and explore your creativity with experimental music-making and art projects. The Comox Valley Community Broadcasting Society (CVOX) will be joining the festivities with live interviews and a fun DJ-ing showcase.
Over a dozen local organizations will be on-site, offering information on programs, resources, and hands-on activities that inspire connection and growth. Discover a variety of supports to help with challenges you may be facing, about environmental initiatives, local food security programs, and more, all while strengthening your connections with community groups.
Don’t miss out on the Salad Bar Lunch, a community school favourite available by donation, and be sure to stop by the plant sale, with proceeds supporting local sustainability efforts.
All of this, along with many more engaging programming activities, will be offered throughout the day.
Community Connections Day is all about bringing people together, creating meaningful relationships, and building a brighter future for the Comox Valley. Best of all, all activities are free of charge, though donations are always appreciated to help LTCES continue to provide barrier-free programming that strengthens our community.
