Here’s an opportunity to see what a Canadian war vessel looks like, up close.

His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Edmonton, a maritime coastal defence vessel, will visit Comox on Sunday, July 9. While docked at the Government Wharf (121 Port Augusta St.), the ship will be open for public tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

During the tour, visitors are also welcome to view a display from the Fleet Dive Unit.

All members of the community are encouraged to join the ship and crew on board. Visitors do not need to book in advance and are invited to show up at the pier between those hours.

HMCS Edmonton recently participated in Trident Fury — a multinational, joint and combined exercise involving over 1,000 military personnel, six Royal Canadian Navy ships, numerous Royal Canadian Air Force aircraft, Canadian Army personnel, as well as personnel and assets from the United States, NATO partners, and Japan.
