Father’s Day Kite Fly at Goose Spit

Get in on the action on dad’s special day! Come out to the 32nd Annual Father’s Day Kite Fly, Sunday, June 16 at Goose Spit Park from noon– 2:30 p.m.

Dads, moms, grandparents, friends and kids of all ages can enjoy the beach and the colours and the shapes of the kites flying through the sky. Registration starts at noon and is free, and open to everyone.

Trophies and prizes will be awarded in a variety of categories, such as people’s choice, stunt kite, oldest pilot, largest kite, hard-luck flyer, homemade kite, and more. Event prizes are donated by Whale’s Tale Toys.

A free hot dog roast at the fire pit is part of the fun. All food will be provided. Cash Money staff will be cooking and handing out sunscreen and water. Mosaic Optometry will be providing free sunglasses for the kids.

As limited parking is available at Goose Spit Park, park and ride is available from Brooklyn Elementary School (1290 Guthrie Road) and will run every 15 minutes, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
