Cumberland Fire Rescue doles out annual awards

Cumberland Fire Rescue held its annual awards banquet recently, with more than 100 guests, volunteer firefighters, lifetime members, and local politicians on hand.

Chief Mike Williamson was presented with the Community Safety Award for many years working and promotion teaching road rescue on Vancouver Island.

Cumberland Fire Rescue held its annual awards banquet recently, with more than 100 guests, volunteer firefighters, lifetime members, and local politicians on hand.

Among the awards given:

鈥� Peter Aitkin, 30-year service medal

鈥� Sean Rodger, 20-year service medal (which also makes him a CFR life member)

鈥� Kent Fourneau, five-year pin

鈥� Cole Palmer, five-year pin

鈥� Archie Pateman, five-year pin

鈥� Jordon Allen, Firefighter of the year

鈥� Community Safety Award 鈥� Chief Mike Williamson, who was nominated for the award for many years teaching road rescue on Vancouver Island.
