The City of Courtenay has all the bases covered when it comes to activities on Family Day, Feb. 19.

Bring the whole family and enjoy free activities and entertainers at the Lewis Centre and The LINC Youth Centre from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The facilities are across the street from each other so plan to visit both places.

Try everything The LINC Youth Centre (300 Old Island Highway) offers, including ping pong, air hockey, foosball and pool table. Areas will be set up for Wii Sports, family board games, crafts, karaoke, Minute to Win It challenges and more surprises.

In the skatepark enjoy scooters and skateboards. Other wheels are welcome, so if kids prefer to rollerblade/skate, or bike, that is welcome. The LINC also features Greg Ladret with close-up magic! Greg performs between 12:30 and 3 p.m.

The Lewis Centre (489 Old Island Highway) offers many opportunities to connect and stay active as a family.

Be active in the much-anticipated return of gymnastics to Family Day. The gymnastics indoor playground will be available in sessions throughout the day. Sign up for a session when you arrive at the Lewis Centre (spaces are limited, please arrive for session on time). Also enjoy an inflatable obstacle course and other active play equipment.

Be creative with Lego and family arts & crafts. There will be several options to create craft keepsakes as a family.

Youth Zone will have board games, Wii Sports, snacks and other activities to appeal to those wanting a more “chill“ space.

Stay tuned for additional activities that are still in the planning stage. For the most up-to-date schedule visit www.courtenay.ca/familyday

Please note that Squash and the Wellness Centre at the Lewis Centre will be open on Family Day from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. (regular fees apply).
