Comox Valley women’s group celebrates five years of philanthropy

The 100+ Women Who Care Comox Valley chapter has made a profound impact on the lives of others in its first five years.

The philanthropic organization has distributed a total of $229,700 to area non-profits and charitable causes since its inception.

The group celebrates its fifth anniversary in 2024, and takes that opportunity to reflect upon the incredible generosity and dedication of the chapter’s members towards making a positive impact in the community.

Since 2019, 100+ Women Who Care has brought together local women of the Comox Valley with a shared passion for philanthropy, collectively supporting and strengthening the community through their financial contributions. The organization’s unique model encourages members to donate $100 at each quarterly meeting, resulting in a substantial and immediate impact on local charities and causes.

To celebrate this significant achievement and invite new members to join the cause, the chapter is hosting a special anniversary meeting on Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. at Crown Isle Golf Resort. The event promises an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the organization’s mission, witness the power of collective giving, and consider becoming part of this impactful community.

“It’s truly heartening to see the positive change that 100+ Women Who Care Comox Valley has brought to our community over the past five years,” said Carol Daize, committee member. “Our members have demonstrated the incredible strength that comes from women joining together with a common purpose. We’re not only celebrating our past achievements but also looking forward to welcoming new faces who share our commitment to making a difference in the lives of those in need.”

The January meeting will feature presentations from three local charities, each vying for the collective donation of the group. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the impactful work of these organizations and participate in the selection of the next beneficiary.

“We invite everyone in the Comox Valley who is passionate about giving back to join us for this special occasion. Whether you are a current member or someone interested in learning more about our organization, your presence can contribute to the positive change we aim to achieve,” added Daize.
