Each year in March and April, a dedicated group of CRA-trained volunteers work at the Comox Valley Lions Den, preparing tax returns for low income individuals and families. Some of those folks make a charitable donation to have their returns completed. This year the proceeds were split between L’Arche Comox Valley and LUSH Valley Food Action Society. Seen here are (L-R): Nancy Owen, Lions Club income tax preparation committee chair; Paula Holmes-Rodman of L’Arche CV; Frank van Gisbergen, a volunteer tax preparer; Maurita Prato of LUSH Valley; and Charmaine Menard, CV Lions president.

Pictured here are Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Cumberland Centennial at a recently organized clothing exchange. Lightly used and some brand new clothing were donated to the Comox Valley Transition Society thrift shop, Too Good To Be Threw” on Puntledge Road in Courtenay. Very concerned about the recent fire that closed the previous location these Rotarians decided to help out with some new inventory. Rotarians Left to right - Ellen Klassen, Margaret Neal, Barb Giroday, Judy McQuillan, guest-Lill Tosoff, Deborah Nolan, and Donna Frawley.
