Life is busy, very busy. So much so that we often come up against challenges that seem important but we do not have the time to stop, drill down and discover answers that satisfy us and enable us to move forward.

So we just go on and manage the next crisis, knowing that at some time we must get to the bottom of what bothers us.

The 5:40 Express at St Peter’s in Comox is “church for those who don’t do church.” In other words, a place where you can stop, drill down and leave with more in your mind and spirit than you had when you arrived.

It won’t surprise you that it focuses on what that man, Jesus, taught those years ago, ideas you may have at one time rejected but as life goes on or as you face new developments, seem to merit another look.

Over the next eight weeks, some of these challenges will be unpacked.

The insights that emerge could surprise you. Topics range from “Lonely, eh?” to “The wheels are coming off,”from “Relationships, why bother?” to “What’s it all about, anyway?”

The series begins this coming Saturday, April 27, with the topic “What’s fulfilment: where do I find it, why is it important?”

These talks and the discussions that follow begin on a Saturday afternoon at 5:40 p.m. at St Peter’s at 218 Church Street, Comox and last one hour. They are accompanied by music, videos and, at times, art and dance. A light meal follows where exploration can continue, or you can just sit quietly and enjoy delicious food.
