Perhaps the most popular shows at the exhibition are the farm animals, poultry, and waterfowl.
The Comox Valley Exhibition, as always, will have a number of animal husbandry and poultry events, as well as 4-H displays this year for your enjoyment.
We have a long and proud association with the local 4-H clubs, and they will be with us again showcasing youth involvement in agriculture – our future farmers.
4-H clubs across B.C. have been fostering youth development for generations through projects and community involvement as explained by their motto “Learn by doing.”
This year, 4-H clubs from across the island will be displaying exhibits in many categories ranging from sewing and quilting, foods, small engines, photography, crafts, and honeybees, to animal husbandry including beef, dairy, poultry, cavy, chinchilla, dogs, goats, sheep, swine and rabbits.
For other entrants, there will be an open beef and dairy event where local farmers will show their prize winning beef and dairy – all island raised.
CVEX is also hosting a fun and unique APA (American Poultry Association) sanctioned club meet featuring our second “Art Show at the Chicken Show” where you can view the beauty of both poultry, waterfowl and paintings in one location at the fair.
You can learn more about the APA and judged poultry shows at their website
Come out and support island beef, dairy, poultry and waterfowl farmers, and 4-H youth as they present their prize winning birds and animals for your education and enjoyment.
See you at the exhibition Aug. 25-27.
