VIDEO: B.C.-made glow-in-the-dark toonie coming for Canada 150

The design is one of five released by the Royal Canadian Mint in 2017

Finding correct change will soon a be a lot easier thanks to a glow-in-the-dark toonie design from a B.C. artist.

The new $2 coin by Richmond’s Timothy Hsia is one of five to be featured for Canada 150 in 2017 as part of Mint’s My Canada, My Inspiration contest.

Want the shiny new coin? Come exchange your old toonies for a new one at this week. The locations are:

  • Thursday, July 6 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Canada Post retail store, 495 West Georgia St. Vancouver, BC
  • Friday, July 7 12 – 5 p.m. at the Aberdeen Mall Outlet, Canada Post Richmond main, 7871 Westminster Hwy
