Vancouver Island beer lovers will get a chance to sample a selection of 250 different beers from more than 80 breweries at the Great Canadian Beer Festival, which returns to Victoria on Sept. 8 and 9 at Royal Athletic Park.
The festival – one of Victoria’s longest-running dating back to 1993 – gives attendees the chance to taste beers they won’t find anywhere else in British Columbia.
In addition to B.C. breweries, 50 exclusive beers will be brought in from across Canada and 14 non-B.C. breweries will be represented, including fan favourites like Blood Brothers (Ontario), Dieu de Ciel (Quebec) and 2 Crows (Nova Scotia).
New breweries featured are XhAle Brew Co. from Alberta and Banished Brewing from Newfoundland & Labrador.
Ciders, mead and non-alcoholic products will also be available to enjoy, along with a 100-foot-long obstacle course and live music.
Single-day tickets are $45, with a weekend pass costing $80. Members of the Victoria Beer Society are eligible for discounted tickets at $10 off.
The festival runs from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 8 and noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9.
