Two B.C. racers come out on top this weekend (July 12-13) at Saratoga Speedway for the first season appearance by the Northwest Sprint Tour.

Cobble Hill’s Randy Price won the opening main event of the weekend Friday in his Millstone Heating & Sheetmetal sponsored 21P. Price started the race off on the outside of row three and worked his way through the pack to the front of the field before lap ten. After a red flag for fluid on the race track on lap 12, Price would hold off Jeff Montgomery on the ensuing restart and drive away to a dominating win.

Montgomery and James Miller would round out the top three.

Saturday night’s main event would be led to the green flag by Langley’s Tom Weston and Union Bay’s Geoff Wade. Wade would jump out to an early lead before being joined at the front by Aaron Willison, who stormed from eighth place to the front of the pack.

Willison quickly dispatched the 94W and drove his Rendle Willison Racing 14 to the front. After only one yellow flag for a spinning Randy Price, the race went green for the remainder of the 40-lap distance, with Willison winning ahead of Montgomery and Geoff Wade rounding out the podium.

Willison left Saratoga Speedway as the Northwest Sprint Tour points leader.

The series will move to Agassiz Speedway on July 27 before returning to Saratoga for their championship weekend from Aug. 16 to 17.
