Two games, two wins, and now, one milestone goal for Micah Zandee-Hart.
The Saanichton native scored her first international goal for Team Canada on Friday at the 2025 IIHF Women鈥檚 World Championship, finding the back of the net at 12:26 of the first period. It stood as the game-winner in Canada鈥檚 4鈥�0 shutout victory over Switzerland.
Zandee-Hart鈥檚 tally opened the scoring and helped extend Canada鈥檚 dominant start to the tournament. The Canadians also blanked Finland 5鈥�0 in their opening game on Thursday, where she registered an assist.
Up next: a marquee matchup against the United States, as the two rivals face off Sunday at 10 a.m. PT in a game that could decide top spot in Group A.
The tournament is held in Ceske Budejovice, Czechia, and runs through Sunday, April 20.
Zandee-Hart currently suits up for the New York Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL) franchise, the Sirens, and brings a wealth of international experience. She won Olympic gold with Canada in 2022, took home silver at the 2023 Women鈥檚 Worlds, and earned bronze at the 2019 tournament.
