The threat of rain did not stop 116

golfers as they teed it up Sunday for the third and final round of the 16th annual Glacier Greens Men’s Shoot Out, played over three weekends using a Ryder Cup format.

First it was best ball, then scramble and on the last day the exciting and challenging alternate shot.

The team of Rob Borland and Steve Peters started the day two shots behind the second round leaders, but after the last putt had dropped they were first with a three-day total of 211. One stroke behind was Jim Livingstone and Doug McArthur. Third went to Al Donovan and Stan Gibb at 217, Rod Cobham and Chris Kalnay were fourth at 219, fifth place was shared by first and second round leaders Rob Hill and Gord Sprott (220) with Barry Norris and Willie Oliver, Don Buchan and Randy Robinson, and Kevin Hunt and Chuck Kennedy.

On the net side it was Philip Ball and Al Pasanen (184.5), Nick Mykitiuk and Rudge Wilson (187), John Holley and Rod Verchere (187.5), Ove Lagerquist and Al Richards (188) and rounding out the top five at (188.5) Dick Stuart and Ken Tait.
