The Trifecta comes to Cumberland in 2024.

The three established trail races in the Comox Valley are collaborating under a banner that aims to promote local races for local causes. The Cumby, Devil’s Ladder, and the Perseverence Trail Run, are races developed by local runners that serve to support local organizations. The main beneficiary to date has been the Cumberland Community Forest Society. Well over a half million dollars has been raised in support of this worthy cause.

Started in 2003, the Perseverence Trail Run, leads the way in contributions. The Cumby, now in its ninth year, has one of the largest total registrations on Vancouver Island for its three May 4 races. Finally, Devil’s Ladder is the newby. Started in 2023, the race offers runners an ultra 50 km, as well as 30 and 15 km races.

The Trifecta is intended to showcase what the Comox Valley offers to trail runners. It shows what local running clubs, and the community, can do in support of causes that they believe in.

Local race directors have come together to promote this trifecta of races.
