The Comox Valley Red Strike earned their way to the Provincial championships July 7-10 in 100 Mile House by defeating Campbell River 6-0 on Feb.  27 in Port Alberni.

The game was originally scheduled in Campbell River, but due to snow throughout much of the Island, the game was rescheduled and played on a cold and windy pitch in Port Alberni.

The Red Strike has dominated teams in their own age category, and once again they played a complete team game from beginning to end. Goals were scored by William Mitchell (2), Liam Wirth, Max Powsey, Sterling Lewis and David Guss, but the impressiveness of the win was everyone鈥檚 contribution. "All 17 players were a part of this win and they should be congratulated," a team spokesperson said.

There will be little rest for the team and much to focus on as they now continue to prepare for Provincials. On April 9 they start their journey with 台湾MM裸聊室 Cup playdowns, beginning with a quarter-final match, possibly here in Comox.

"Their expectations are high, as they want not only to be playing a week later in Vancouver in semifinal action, but will hopefully advance to compete in the finals on April 30," the team spokesperson added.

Following that tournament the Island Invitational Cup will be played in Victoria on May 9 before the Red Strike will have a chance to rest. "Coaches Paul West, Dave Lewis, Bruce Mitchell and Mark Jones have worked hard with this group of guys and are looking forward to seeing the team finish strong," the team spokesperson said.
