It鈥檚 time for hockey as the National Hockey League is about to begin its regular season.

The league has held preseason games in September, but the regular season is set to begin in North America on Oct. 8.

Hockey is a popular sport in communities across Canada.

The league consists of 32 teams, with seven from Canada and 25 in the United States, competing for the Stanley Cup, the oldest professional sports trophy in North America.
