The Kalamalka Lakers senior boys volleyball team kicked off the AA provincial championships

The best AA senior boys volleyball teams are battling in Coldstream. 

The Kalamalka Lakers are hosting the three-day (Nov. 27-30) tournament, with 16 teams vying for the banner of the best in the province. 

Kal is ranked second in the province, and competing in the top power pool alongside three Christian schools, Abbotsford, Surrey and Langley.

Kicking off the tournament, the Lakers lost 21-25, 22-25 to the third-ranked Abbotsford Christian Knights despite a packed gymnasium cheering them on Wednesday. 

In their second match of the day, the fourth-ranked Surrey Christian Falcons bested the Lakers, 25-16, 23-25, 15-11.

After seeding is done after Wednesday, elimination rounds will occur Thursday-Friday, culminating in the final on Saturday.
