Killer Whales thank Sharks for sharing their pool

The Campbell River Killer Whales Swim Club is thanking the Comox Valley Aquatic Club Sharks for sharing their pool.

"Over the past six months (we have) been without our home pool, so we have been travelling to Comox to practice with the Comox Valley Aquatic Club," said Campbell River head coach Chris Koopmans.

“I believe it has been very beneficial for both of our swim clubs to train together over the past few months. I believe that strong friendships and team unity have emerged and helped both clubs' swimmers strive to be the best they can be.”

Koopmans says that as a thank you, the Campbell River club has booked some pool time (in Courtenay) on March 17 from 6 to 7 p.m. for any swimmer wanting to join the Comox Valley swim club to come and meet head coach Albert Burgund and have an introduction to the sport of competitive swimming.

Burgund says, “This is an excellent opportunity for new swimmers to come to the Aquatic Centre  and be exposed to our sport of competitive swimming.”

For more information on the Comox Valley Aquatic Club, call Burgund at 250-871-5927.
