Isfeld girls earn top North Island seed for Island basketball championships

The Mark Isfeld Ice junior girls won the North Island Basketball Championship on Saturday and head to the Island championship as the top seed in the North. The Isfeld Ice won the junior girls’ North Island basketball championships for the second year in a row with convincing wins over Wellington (Nanaimo), Ballenas (Parksville) and Dover Bay (Nanaimo). All players played significant minutes and hit the scoresheet in all three games. Isfeld heads into the Island Championships this weekend as the top-ranked team in the North, and has been ranked in the top 10 in B.C. all year.

Highland finished their season on a positive note, losing two close games and improving throughout. Vanier also lost two close games but managed to win when it counted versus Wellington to finish fourth and qualify for Islands.
