The Rotary Club of Comox Valley and Habitat for Humanity are set to host BatFest, a charity softball tournament set for July 19 to July 21.

This fun-filled event aims to bring the community together for a weekend of friendly competition, exciting prizes, and fundraising for two great causes.
BatFest will be held at the Lewis Park Ball Fields. Proceeds from this tournament will go towards Habitat for Humanity – North Island and the Rotary Club of Comox Valley’s local improvement projects and other initiatives.

A beer garden and concession stand will be open for players and spectators to enjoy all weekend long.

The festivities kick off with an inaugural Heroes Match on Friday, July 19 at 4:30 p.m. between the RCMP and Courtenay Fire Department. Mayor Bob Wells will be in attendance, and Habitat for Humanity families are slated to throw out the first pitch.

Saturday features the Battle for Airwaves as Jet FM 98.9 takes on The Raven 100.7 at 1p.m.

In addition to the softball games, BatFest will offer a range of activities for all ages, including:
● Giveaways and 50/50 Raffles: Win fun prizes and support Habitat for Humanity.
● Delicious Ballpark Food: Enjoy classic ballpark fare from our concession stand.
● Beer Garden: Relax with a cold beer, cider or cooler while watching a game.

Proceeds from BatFest will support the ongoing work of Habitat for Humanity in the Comox Valley, helping to provide affordable housing solutions for families in need. The Rotary Club of Comox Valley is proud to partner with Habitat for Humanity in this endeavor, reflecting their shared commitment to community service and development.

“We are thrilled to bring BatFest to the Comox Valley and partner with Habitat for Humanity,” said Angela Zumbo, Rotary chair of the BatFest committee. “This tournament is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together, have fun, and support two great nonprofits that make a significant impact on the lives of local families.”
