Five U15 Comox Valley Volleyball Club players were recently selected to represent Vancouver Island at the 2023 U15 BC Cup in Kamloops on July 20-23.
The tournament consists of eight zones that will compete with their top 14 players for the provincial championships. Zone 1 (Kootenays), Zone 2 (Okanagan), Zone 3 ( Fraser Valley), Zone 4 (Fraser River), Zone 5 (Vancouver 台湾MM裸聊室), Zone 6 (Vancouver Island/Central Coast), Zone 7 (Northwest), Zone 8 (Caribou/NorthEast)
Being from a smaller community, having five local athletes qualify to play on the Vancouver Island team consisting of 14 players is a true result of the growth and development of the volleyball program in the Comox Valley.
Thanks in large part to all the volunteer coaches at all the boys and girls club levels and school programs. Thanks also to the various local volleyball camps and high-performance training run by Jesse Knights鈥� Abstract Volleyball, Julie Young and Brian Stevens, local athletes have the opportunity to further develop their skills to pursue their sport.
The opportunity to play for a regional or provincial team provides much more than skills and competition. It provides valuable social skills and the opportunity to meet and make new long-lasting friendships and memories as well.
