Special to the Record

Spring is here and the Courtenay and District Fish & Game Protective Association located at 3780 Colake Rd. on Comox Lake is the place to be for a Spring Gun Show on Sunday, May 5, at the main hall from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Admission is $5 for men 18 and over but women and youth under 18 are free. Breakfast and lunch will be available to purchase from the kitchen.

Check out the many vendors’ tables of the buy, sell or trade displays of sporting, hunting and some historical firearms and other associated equipment. The show is a great opportunity to find a starting firearm for a novice hunter such as a son or daughter or grandchild. More women, in particular, are taking up the various shooting sports and hunting. This could be the opportunity to find an economical firearm.

Several shows are held throughout the year on Vancouver Island by other Fish and Game Associations.

The CDFGPA and its Black Powder shooters host a Spring and Fall Gun Show every year. Anyone interested in Gun Show information, contact Rurik Myrbo at 250-218-7139 or gunshow@courtenayfishandgame.org
