The Comox Valley Triathlon Club is holding its Annual General Meeting on Sunday, Oct. 21 in the Salish Room at the Lewis Centre in Courtenay.
The club welcomes anyone with an interest in swimming, cycling, running and/or fitness to join an upbeat group, ranging from beginners to Ironman champions, in a supportive, fun environment.
Triathlon is an event that almost anyone can participate in. The CVTC is not a group of hardcore athletes. Instead, it’s a group of people who laugh a lot, train together and socialize. For some members, it’s a social club, which is welcomed and encouraged.
For this fall and winter, the CVTC is running spin classes, specifically developed to enhance cycling fitness, at the Lewis Centre on Sunday mornings, beginning at 9 a.m. Members are also swimming at the Comox Valley Aquatic Centre as part of the CVRD’s ‘swim fit’ program. The triathlon club promotes many running groups in the Valley and, occasionally, hosts clinics on cycling, swimming, running, nutrition and more.
The AGM begins at noon. Members and non-members are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The official motto is not, but could be: If you’re not smiling, you’re doing it wrong.
