Comox judoka second at U.S. Open

Dakota Sanzana won a silver medal in her weight division at the U.S. Judo Open Championship, July 28 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

The 11-year-old Comox Valley resident 鈥� ranked number one in B.C. in her weight class 鈥� had the same result earlier this summer at the U.S. Judo Junior Olympics in Spokane, Wash. Shortly before that competition, Dakota had resumed training after sustaining a back injury in March.
