Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community supports the education, training and mentorship of its junior golf members.
In concert with the Crown Isle Men’s Club, Crown Isle believe in playing a crucial role in assisting junior members on life’s journey.
This year the Rick Glanville Memorial Scholarship was awarded to Braxton Pedersen-Skene on Saturday, Sept. 2. The scholarship is named in memory of Rick Glanville, a member of the Crown Isle Men’s Club executive committee when he passed away. This year’s recipient of the scholarship is a graduate of Mark Isfeld Secondary School - Ecole Secondaire and is currently enrolled in the bachelor of kinesiology program at Camosun College in Victoria.
Pedersen-Skene has been a member of the Crown Isle Junior Golf Program for four years and has worked as a member of the Crown Isle Outside Services team for the last three years.
The 2021 winner of the scholarship was Darrin Lessard who is in third year at Camosun College in the sport management degree program.
The Crown Isle Men’s Club provides this scholarship in an effort to support Crown Isle junior golfers in the pursuit of post-secondary education and remain committed to their involvement in and promotion of golf.
“The Men’s Club supports exceptional young male golfers in many ways each year,” said current Crown Isle men’s captain, Dave Yanik. “Our goal is help them succeed in golf and their future careers.”
