Dear editor,
The new Comox Valley Hospice must allow MAiD (Medical Assistance in Dying).
If I or one of my family is definitely at the end of his/her life and there is no hope of recovery and he/she is in pain I see no reason to prolong life. I find I may have to welcome it for one of my own family. Since Island Health is examining bids for a long-term 70 bed facility (seniors’ home) it should be built on a secular site in the Comox Valley with a six-bed hospice beside it. We do not let animals suffer; why should we allow our loved ones to suffer?
