The Comox Valley Regional District is going to raise water rates by 53 per cent, wich is unaffordable for many.
A recent report stated that a family in the Comox Valley needed two incomes totalling $84,000 to live here. Good luck to many earning much less.
I suggest there will be many more homeless with this irresponsible increase in an essential service which impacts low-income residents the most.
Perhaps those forced to live in tents should camp on Harmston Avenue, across from the most elegant local government building in the region. Out of touch with the reality of today.
