The Editor;

Two weeks ago the Liberal Party of Canada reported proudly that over 400,000 members had signed up to vote on the leadership (signing up was free unlike other parties that charge a membership fee). Yet on Sunday less than 152,000 actually voted. What happened to the other 248,000?

Did they really exist or was this an effort to appear to equal the paid-up number who joined the Conservative Party for their 2022 leadership race? Poilievre won that race with over 250,000 votes.

Did Liberal Party headquarters disqualify that many or were they discouraged by the obvious bias in favour of Carney shown by the Liberal establishment? Or were they all Ruby Dhalla supporters and therefore disenfranchised when she was disqualified?

Just wondering,

Delbert Doll,

Courtenay.
