Duncan unknown to Tories?

We have been advised that a letter intended for our Member of Parliament was delivered in error to the NDP MP from Edmonton with a similar last name.

Dear editor,

We have been advised that a letter intended for our Member of Parliament was delivered in error to the NDP MP from Edmonton with a similar last name.

The letter was sent on parliamentary letterhead by a member of Jason Kenney’s staff.

The staff member has since tendered his resignation, as it was a Conservative fundraising letter and the minister and his staff should know that resources of the Parliament of Canada should not be used for partisan purposes.

The Opposition is indignant, as yet another transgression by this “transparent and accountable” government is revealed.

I have to say, as a citizen of the Comox Valley I am very concerned by this news. By all accounts, the Honourable John Duncan was elected to represent us in 1993, 1997, 2000, 2004 and 2008. He now has a cabinet post as the minister of Indian Affairs and Northern Development.

Yet, it would seem his own party doesn’t seem to know he exists.

Maureen Haslehurst,

Comox
