Draper disappointed over NIC debate

As campaign manager for Jason Draper, I was extremely disappointed with the organizers of the North Island College debate.

Dear editor,

As campaign manager for Jason Draper, I was extremely disappointed with the organizers of the North Island College debate.

I had called the their number and left a message to indicate that Jason would be attending the debate. Jason later called to confirm and was told that he was not invited to attend as it was to late for him to do so!

He was ready, willing and able to attend.

These debates are important for our riding's constituents. To exclude a candidate is unbelievable and also illegal under federal electoral rules.

I had also called Mark Isfeld Secondary School in plenty of time to inform them that Jason would be attending. I was told by that having Mr. Draper would not allow the students enough time to finish their questions.

Here is an example of people suppressing democracy in our schools of learning.

Why call them all-candidate debates? They should be called some-candidate debates!

In the past election, Jason was invited and attended all the debates held. He is serious about doing the best he can for the constituents of our riding.

It would be nice if he was given the chance to do so at all the debates, not just some of them.

Don Catling,

Comox
