HERMAN - William Walter “Bill” of Courtenay passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 16, 2003, aged 68. Predeceased by his father Walter in November of 1982. He is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 44 years, Larona; children Laurie Frame (Danny) of Gold River; Carrie Herman of Courtenay and Stan Herman (Gail) of Courtenay; grandchildren Regan, Jessie, Louis and Paul; sister Rita Louie of Victoria; his mother Marjorie Bakewell of Courtenay; Aunt Norma Herman of Courtenay and many nieces and nephews. Bill moved to the Comox Valley from Chilliwack in 1946. He spent many of his boyhood years on the Courtenay River in his power boat with his buddies. Bill was well-known for his expertise in firearms which was his lifelong hobby. He was a member of the Fish and Game Club and the Classic Car Club. Many will remember him as owner of Peter’s Sport Shop for 21 years. Bill will be fondly remembered by his family and many friends. A Service of Remembrance in Celebration of his life was held from COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD with Mr. Lawrence Burns facilitating.
