 It is with great sadness that Anna, Lori and Jason announce the passing of Billy D., husband, father and friend to many. William “Billy” Mack Duchak passed away in Comox, B.C. on April 22nd, 2004 at the age of 58. He was predeceased by his parents Peter and Julia Duchak and his sister Frances Adamski. Billy is survived and will be sadly missed by his spouse and best friend Anna, his son Jason, his daughter Lori, his grandson Elijh, his brothers; Frank, Ernie and Ron, his sisters: Elsie Voss and Patricia Kolida-Dophine; as well as several nieces and nephews. Billy was a member of the Rotary Club and the Royal Canadian Legion. He was the owner of Billy D’s Pub & Bistro and the previous owner of Columbo’s in Courtenay and the Great Steak Company in Qualicum Beach, Courtenay and Campbell River. Billy spent 17 years with Woolco starting as a stock boy and working his way up to District Manager. He was a fun loving, social person who was full of life. He enjoyed playing golf and traveling (especially his times in Mexico). A Celebration of Billy’s life was held on Monday the 26th of April. Arrangements entrusted to COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD. Donations in Billy’s memory made to YANA Fund Society, PO Box 3159, Courtenay, B.C. V9N 5N4 would be appreciated. The family wishes to thank the doctors and ICU staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital. A special thanks to the staff at Billy D’s for their support during this difficult time.
