Bill, a long time resident of
Quadra Island and Campbell
River, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2005. Bill spent his life on the coast logging, fishing, farming, and hauling freight by boat and barge, several of which he designed and built. Recent years Bill was seen playing his harmonica in local businesses.
Son of Frederick Foort 1880 - 1968 (British Indian Army) and Ameenie Foort 1901 - 1987 (Lebanon). Survived by partner Gwen; daughter Kensington Katherine Foort and granddaughter Jennifer LaCroix; daughter Susan Foort (Aaron), daughter Patricia Foort (Ventura Poloni), daughter Melody Enns (Randy, and granddaughter Montana Enns; brothers James and Lawrence, sister Ruth Allen, and brother-in-law Ian Mackay; numerous nieces and nephews and other family members.

A Gathering of family and friends to remember his life will be held at the Eagles Hall, 1999 - 14th Avenue, Campbell River on Saturday, June 18th, 2005 from 3-5pm.
