Bill passed away peacefully at Eagle View E.C.U. St. Joseph’s Hospital on November 2, 2003. Predeceased by wife Alva, the mother of their three daughters: Wendy (Marten) Holst, Wanda (Richard) Little, Shelley (Jack) Ward, and grandchildren: Sherri, David, Matthew, and Royce, greatgrandchildren: Bruce and Savannah. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Jewitt (Cottingham) and family. Bill was born and lived in Vancouver. He served in the R.C.A.F. Marine Section during World War II, owned and operated a water taxi business in Howe Sound, then began commercial fishing and in 1963 moved with his family to the Comox Valley. He travelled the coast until his retirement in 1987, was truly a man of the sea. His latter years were shared with Pat, whom he married in 1995, travelling, golfing and enjoying an active social life.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks and deep appreciation to the nursing and care staff of Eagle View for their outstanding service. Indeed, he will be greatly missed.
