William (Bill) Aaron
1921 ~ 2002
Born in Tilston, Manitoba September 25, 1921, Bill passed away suddenly on Friday, November 29, 2002. Predeceased by his oldest son Wayne, Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years Norma, his sons Terry (Susan: Jonathan, Iain, Stephen), Dale and Dennis, his daughters Jill (Allan: Craig, Leanne), Donna (Chuck: Matthew, Michael), Jackie (Jeremy, Casandra), and Sherry (Peter: Tera, Amanda, Katie), and his sister Edna Arnold. Bill entered the RCAF in 1941 and in early 1945 he received his commission as a pilot officer. With the end of World War Two Bill was discharged but then re-enlisted in 1946. His career took him to Station Edmonton, Goose Bay Labrador, Chatham, New Brunswick, Comox, Summerside, PEI. Finishing his career as a Flight Sergeant Engineer, Bill retired to Comox with his family in 1967. Following his retirement Bill worked as a diesel engineer with the Dept. of Fisheries and B.C. Ferries. Bill loved fishing and music. His guitar, banjo, and mouth organ were never far from his side. He was an active member of Branch 160 Comox Legion, 88 Wing and Airforce Association. Bill/Dad will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A Celebration of Bill’s life will be held on Thursday, December 5 at 2:00 pm. Comox Legion. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Canada.
