Casanova, Virginio
December 5th, 1923 - June 16th, 2005
Virginio Casanova passed away peacefully at home in Comox, surrounded by his family on June 16th, 2005. Virginio is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife Lucienne, his sons Virginio (Susanna) of Comox and Luciano (Suzanne) of Comox and his grandchildren Giacomo, Natalia and Samantha.
During World War II he served with the 8th Army as a paratrooper. Virginio spoke 5 languages and worked as a courtroom interpreter for 20 years in Montreal. He was an avid hunter who enjoyed the outdoors and a wine aficionado who also enjoyed cooking.
Prayers will be said at COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 1101 RYAN ROAD, COURTENAY on Monday, June 20th, 2005 at 7:00 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, 19 Wing Comox on Tuesday, June 21st, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. followed by cremation. Donations in Virginio’s memory made to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, 2137 Comox Avenue, Comox, B.C. V9M 1P2 would be appreciated.
