Wilson, Trueman
1928 - 2004
Our “Grumps” left us February 19, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 26, 1928 in Saskatchewan, but moved as a young child to the West Coast he loved. Trueman worked on the coastal Steamships as a young man and then went to work in various logging camps. It was there he met his wife Bette and they established their own logging operation in Seymour Inlet, raising their three children on a float camp. In the late 60’s they left the float camp and Trueman worked as a faller until his retirement in 1988. After retirement Trueman enjoyed beating other family members at a game of golf and feeding his dearly loved ponies.
Trueman leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Bette, sons Wayne and Brian (Colleen), daughter Maureen, and grandchildren Mike, Melissa, and Rachel. He will also be sadly missed by his extended family and friends, too numerous to list. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 13, 2004 at the Arbutus Hotel dining room.
